Bolingbroke Grove

This late-Victorian property hadn’t been updated in over 40 years and our clients were dissatisfied with their small kitchen. In addition to a side return extension on the ground floor, our clients wanted to update their existing loft conversion to something more contemporary that would make the best of views over London.

This property is in a prominent location within a conservation area, so we had to make sure that our designs would not be deemed to compromise the character of the area, whilst providing the client with the contemporary home they desired. The project sailed through planning, with planners praising the “crisp, neat and contemporary” design. The final design raised the ceiling in the loft, incorporating floor to ceiling windows facing north in order to create a light, open space with panoramic views towards central London.

The kitchen was moved to the back of the house, with frameless glass walls facing towards the garden and a glass roof in the side return extension to maximise light. A basement conversion created space for a wine store, cinema room and utility room.
